Hi I am four months out of kidney transplant. I have had terrible time getting my strength up, still am tired after three to four hours being up and moving around. Can ride tractor about four hours but have to go to house and take a nap. It has been slow but am coming along. I also found my self becoming depressed, so talked to other people I know that have had transplants longer, they informed me that I was about half way through and things would gradually get betteras time went on and they lowered the rejection medicines. I take 1000 mg cellcept and 4mg prograf daily 1/2 morning and night. I am surprised that your sister is using prograf, as normally it is not used in diabetics, they normally use cylosporen. I would double check the use of prograf with Transplant Doctors. I would encourage her to get around and out as much as possible, plus talking to someone who has been there, it was good for me. You can't hold it all in. I will have to say that the first three mths I felt like dying, but after talking to other people and more time things are improving. I am experincing pain in knees calves ankles and feet, can barely walk some time I have to crawl. would like to know if any one has experienced this and what they did to overcome the problem? Good luck and hang in there. George
