I actually went to an acupuncturist while I was waiting for my transplant, to obtain some help with nausea and vomiting. While she was able to help those symptoms, she admitted she could do nothing to help my kidney disease. She even had the nerve to tell me I'd get hepatitis from a transplant! While I respect alternative medicine and have witnessed its benefits, I think you have to consider all types of medicine to find what works for you--especially when its your life on the line. I haven't needed to see her since the transplant, and am now healthier than I've ever been...even hoping to have a baby!
