Posted by John on 6/26/2003, 5:14 pm, in reply to "need your advice" The few people I have heard of who did it consulted an ob/gyn who handles a lot of high-risk pregnancies, and they only did it after a lot to testing by the nephrologist and with the two doctors working as a team to manage the case.
I have heard of it happening, but there are no real guarantees, either that the kidney will keep working well enough after pregnancy to keep you off of dialysis, nor are there guarantees that the pregnancy will be uncomplicated for the fetus.
