Posted by John We did talk about all the changes though. It is a pretty big surgery since the abdomen and the duodenum and the bladder have to be opened at least a bit to move the structures. But on the other hand a few things get easier to manage, like the metabolic pH (no more bicarb usually) and hydration since the gut can resorb the water usually lost through the bladder drainage. If it affects the urinary tract, conversion is about the only way to go. Let us hear from you.

My surgeons considered it for me when was having a big problem with dehydration, but things got stable so they didnt do it.
