My sister received a kidney from my daughter on April 1st. She was given large doses of prednisone while in the hospital and then they were decreased to where she was taking none 7-8 days after the transplant. I know little about this other than we were told that it is a fairly new practice to not use the steroid. She is taking Cellcept and Prograf (along with many other things). Are there others out there that are not taking prednisone? I am curious as to your thoughts on the subject. I did read the posts about the study, which has led me to believe that NOT using prednisone is still in the testing stages.
