JT, good heart rate(172), if your heart has sufficient work with your active rate, you could have low heart because of the condition of the heart. for example, marthron runners have resting rate of 45-50, my low rate before medical problems was 55 because i was runnning 40 miles a week.
The high potassium with chronic kidney disease caused, "sick sinus nobe", unbalanced electrical system causing irregular heart beat and low resting rate(35-40) I had to have a pacemaker implanted that keeps my rate above 60 at all times.
I did feel tired and faint with this low heart rate.My point is you could natural have this low rate because of physical condition.
