This is a poem about a trip I took a couple of years ago to Corfu:
Casting reflections upon you and me.
To this island of the sun we have travelled,
Leaving behind the noisy rabble.
Exploring the sands of time without censure.
Travelling across mountains and past ancient walls,
Our path becomes marked with every footfall.
Marvelling together at such glorious sights.
Comparing the beauty of the scene to you,
I wonder if love has ever been so true.
Evening would come heralded by sunset,
The skies turning yellow, orange, and then russet.
Watching from a hill we would bathe in its light,
As evening fell hold each other tight.
Back to reality and the human zoo.
But one day we promised each other to be,
Back on our very own pearl in the sea.
