Posted by Karen Peak - No Puppy Mills, V on August 21, 2005, 10:32 am On the hone page are links to how and why this bills is bad as well as a petition against it. PLEASE forward and crosspost!!! Not all dogs are created equal. Some are given a great shot at life and the chance to find love with the best owners possible. Others are bred and brokered as commodities for the sole purpose of lining a pocket. Some are bred with thought and consideration to form and function - better the breed. Others are bred just for the sake of profit. Some come from carefully planned litters and from parents who have undergone careful health screenings. Others are bred haphazardly at best... Some puppies are sold only to carefully screened homes. Others are sold to the first person whose cash is on the table... So, just what is a Puppy Mill? How can you make sure you are getting the best dog possible? This site will help you... New and updated pages are marked with a red pawprint: PLEASE OPPOSE THE PAWS ACT 2005 - it will negatively affect good breeders, could harm some rescues and allow the millers to continue breeding freely. Petition against it can be found here ( http://www.petitiononline.com/paws2005/petition.html) MY GOAL IS 1,000 SIGNATURES BY THE END OF AUGUST 2005. Information on how PAWS is bad for good breeders can be found on this site (http://www.dfow.org/paws.htm )and how PAWS is bad for rescues (http://www.purebredcatbreedrescue.org/paws.htm.)
