Made some butternut squash lasagna last night that sounded like it should have been way better than in was. That recipe needs tweeking. For some reason, it had spinach in it that didn't go at ALL with the rest of the flavors. To begin with, I bought no-name frozen spinach and I KNOW better than that! But even still, spinach just didn't blend well with the rest of it.
I will post the recipe in case anyone wants to mess with it. I will probably play with it some more once I recover from last night's adventure.
The recipe calls for fresh sage, which I have never used before. I got a package and chopped it all up with scissors. Then I realized: Are you supposed to use the stems too? Or just the leaves? It was pretty "woody" so I threw the whole sauce part in the blender and ended up with Green Sauce instead of White Sauce. But, I don't think that was the problem with the recipe.
Today I feel like I
am still exuding sage through my pores. Could be worse I guess!
