Yes, I've got a new Ford F150, but we opted to NOT get the one that burns E85. The cost was the same, but E85 is not readily available here. We were just talking this morning about living in a most environmentally unfriendly state. From what I've read, until we commit to solar power or some form of fuel that does not involve fossil fuels or plants (processing is harmful to the environment) then we're doomed. I'm so old that I'm sure I'll die before there's any resolution. We relied on wind power in California, but it's not cheap to maintain the fields of windmills. They were/are in the desert, and the blowing sand is no friend of machinery. Maybe I've said it before, but I've stopped worrying about vehicles and fuel. Right now we have 2 inches of pure ice on our road. It has been there for four weeks. When it isn't icy it's muddy. We have to have a 4WD. If an electric 4 wheel drive becomes available I'll buy it. Until then I try to focus on the things that I can do that will have a meaningful impact on making things better--e.g. we share rides to work, we combine errands, we never go out "just for fun" and once in the city we park the truck and walk. I hate riding bikes, but I'd certainly consider it if we lived closer to a city.
