Posted by Michele Night is about the time Elie Wiesel, the author, spent in Nazi concentration camps. He won the Nobel Peace Prize, and it is a very sobering book. I think everyone should read it. Do you know the title of the book your friend wrote about Viet Nam? Was it published? --Previous Message--

I'm not sure I'd have the patience to cut through all that gaelic (however it is spelled). I admire you! I guess the story is worth it?
: I'm reading Breath of Snow and Ashes by
: Diane Gabaldon. It is part of a
: series, but this is the first one I've
: read. It's kind of a hard read for me.
: I think it is the gaelic (sp?)
: language the characters use in
: conversation that slows me way down. I
: think I'm finally figuring out what ken
: and kent mean. I think those are used
: like "know." The book takes
: place in the forrests of North
: Carlolina at the beginning of the
: American Revolution. A few of the
: characters are time-travelers from the
: series and since I started in the
: middle I don't know much about that
: part of the story except that they know
: things from being in other times.
:
: I just finished The Mists of Avalon.
: That was another very long book, but a
: good one. I started to read You on a
: Diet, but the way it's written kind of
: bugs me. It's written too
: "funny" when I want the facts
: without all the joking around.
:
: What was Night about? There's this guy
: that hangs out at the cafe who is an
: long time friend of my family and he
: resently wrote a book about his
: experiences in Vietnam.
