I have to say, though, I don't think 3 or 3.5 megapixels is enough. You'll be disappointed with the overall quality of your pics imho. Try to get at least 4 megapixels. That's what I was going to get, but then I found the 7 for the same price as the 5. There are other things I love about my Canon, too; however, my best advice is to try a bunch of cameras and see what feels good in your hands, get the biggest view finder you can (mine is huge), and buy extra memory...you'll need it sooner than you think! And yes, I've been taking loads of pics of our remodeling, the snow, and the cats. I'll do more floral artsy stuff this summer.
Cell phones are the bane of my existence! I was in a meeting yesterday where one man kept getting up to answer his phone. Everything had to stop till he got back. That meeting took twice as long as it should have. Next time I'm going to speak up and tell him to turn the stupid thing OFF.
