Posted by Michele I'm glad you got a nice day at home with Royce. I bet those training classes are fun, though! --Previous Message--

It's weird how the ice storm came up from Texas and crossed over us, heading to Illinois. It met with artic cold air right over us in MO...we had the worst ice storm of anybody. Actually, southern MO got the very worst of it, losing power for days (Iberia is still without power) and trees down everywhere. We have about three inches of ice everywhere. We had more snow yesterday. The roads are fairly clear now, but schools didn't start back until today. The school buses are still running only on snow routes. Our road just got plowed this morning. Thank goodness for 4-wheel drive!! So, we're fine...just really tired of snow and ice. BTW the news reported that people aren't cleaning the ice off their cars, and then when they get on the road the ice is blowing off the cars into the windshields of other cars. The ice acts like bullets. We saw a car get hit today. Very scarey!
: So that's where that ice came from!
:
: I was just wrapping up my errands in
: town; when I came out at 6 PM it was
: starting to drizzle and it was freezing
: drizzle. I had rushed to get everything
: done Saturday so I could stay home
: Sunday and I was feeling kind of
: foolish because it hadn't done anything
: all day Saturday like they had
: forcasted. On the drive home my
: defroster couldn't keep up with the ice
: and by the time my road came up I was
: hunched over the steering wheel peering
: out a sliver of clear glass and glad to
: be home.
:
: It snowed all day Sunday and I was so
: glad to be inside and warm. Royce got a
: snow day from training class.
:
: Monday at work, nobody else had had
: ice! Of course none of them live quite
: as far west as I do.
:
: How did you come out of it? Much
: damage?
