Have you heard the news about the FDA-approved so-called "Diet Drug," Orlistat, which is available in the United States, both as a prescription product (Xenical) and as an over-the-counter medication (Alli)? U.S. health officials announced Monday that they are reviewing reports of liver injury in people took Roche Holding AG's weight loss drug Xenical or the over-the-counter version sold by GlaxSmithKline.
Personally, I don't believe there are any "tricks" to weight loss. These tricks include dangerous surgeries and medication (whether over-the-counter or otherwise). Just pick up a box of Alli and read the side-effects -- which caution users to wear dark-colored underwear because the product may cause bowel leakage.
At the end of the day, true and lasting weight loss (and overall health -- both mental and physical) comes from eating less, moving more, drinking plenty of water and getting sufficient amounts of sleep. It's not rocket science. It's common sense.
