Everyone is going to lose weight differently -- depending on individual metabolism, overall health, amount of exercise, etc. The #1 rule? Always check with your doctor before beginning any lifestyle change to make sure the measure you take to achieve health are ones that won't harm your body, mind or soul.
Yes, my overall weight loss happened in a relatively short amount of time, all things considered. But I never skipped meals (or exercise), always got plenty of rest and made sure to drink lots of water. I was strict on my program, which meant little to no social life (because I was just too tempted to eat when at social situations involving food). After years of trying every diet out there (and cheating and cheating and cheating), I made the commitment to "Just do it" and "Just did it."
There were some weeks I lost lots of weight. Other weeks that the scale barely budged. It varied. Just as weight loss will vary according to your individual metabolism, etc.
My story should not be one that intimidates anyone with the fast weight loss. What my story hopefully does, is inspire people -- so they know that weight loss can happen through healthy means. No surgery. No pills. No crazy "food group" or "liquid" diets. And always under medical supervision so that you end up as healthy on the inside as on the outside.
Everyone has their own individual story as to how they gained weight. Similarly, everyone is going to have their own individual story as to how they took the excess weight off. I look forward to reading yours (I hope you'll share it with us) and wish you lots of luck. You have what it takes to reach your goal.
Go, John, go! :D
