Losing 60 pounds is totally do-able. The first step is to not think of it as LOSING the weight -- but, instead, GETTING RID OF IT. The pounds will not be something you're losing. And giving up certain foods and portions are not missing out. You are making CHOICES to be healthier, live healthier and be around for your daughter -- as well as your wife, your business and every other reason you can think of. You need to ask yourself, "Do I want this?" If so, make the changes that are outlined either in the book or at various spots throughout the internet. Make the commitment to yourself. No more excuses. It's a matter of do you want it, or do you not? If you do -- if you really do -- then now is the time you will GET RID of the weight once and for all.
I applaud your choice to do so. And I encourage you to check with your personal doctor before beginning ANY weight loss plan to make sure you do it the healthiest way possible based on your personal medical history and current health condition.
Try taping a picture of your daughter to the fridge as a reminder. But more than doing it for her, do it for YOURSELF.
Good luck.
