Of course, I have to wonder if this is really Rita who made this post. You’re warming up to Balsamic? Can it be true? LOL! (Your sense of humor is applauded, young lady. Laughter is one of the most essential ingredients to successful weight loss! Keep it up!)
As for being tired, I found that when I first changed my eating habits, my body would be more tired, more often. Personally, I believe the reason for this was because my body wasn’t getting the same amount of sugar and caffeine that it was used to getting. Plus, when I was in full binge mode, I was often up all night, in terrible pain due to overeating. So I was very tired when I first began the program and found I needed a lot more rest.
As time passed, I found my energy increased. I would still be tired by the end of the day, but would wake up refreshed and revitalized. To this day, I wake up around 4:30am every morning. (Talk about seizing the day!) Of course that means by 8pm or so I’m ready to hit the hay. Hopefully you will find this is how things proceed with you, too. Remember, your body is going through a major change right now. Give yourself and your body some time to adjust.
Your questions are good and they are valid. I suggest keeping a journal and writing down when you fall asleep and when you get up in the morning. And maybe rate your “awake state” on a scale of 1 to 10. This way, as you track your personal patterns, you will hopefully find that it’s improving over time.
(And yeah, drinking more water will require using the bathroom more -- my friends make fun of me because I know where all the best “clean public toilets” are whenever we’re out on the town). Hey, when the going gets tough, the tough get going (literally), right?
As always, if any new “symptom” or anything out of the ordinary persists for too long, you’ll want to check in with your doctor. Especially given some of the other medical challenges you’re facing right now. So keep track of how you’re feeling and keep up the good work!
In the meantime, remember that more and more research is showing the getting enough sleep and/or rest is essential to successful weight loss and overall health. Here are a few links, which hopefully will provide a little more information for you:
