Building exercise into your dieting regime is difficult for so many reasons. “No time.” “No motivation.” “No ability.” I hear it all. And I understand. I was just at the gym before answering your post and even this morning I didn’t want to get up and drag my butt there. But I did. Because I know I want to maintain my weight loss (not to mention look as good as you and other Just Stoppers! when we all go on “Oprah” -- Ha!).
I know that people like you and our friend Jason have special medical circumstances in regard to exercise. That’s why sometimes it really is one step at a time. Literally. Do a little bit here. A little bit there. And know that as long as you stick to the Just Stop! Eating Plan (with or without your dreaded Balsamic), the results will come. And even exercise and movement will get easier, no matter what your medical condition.
I posted some links to information about yoga in a post to Jason. You might want to check those out if you haven’t already.
I know you and other Just Stoppers! are facing a lot, Rita. I applaud you for not giving up, even with the medical issues you’re facing. “Normal thin people” don’t understand what it’s like to wake up and feel fat and have to walk out the door (or limp on some days) and face the world with your Achilles’ heal in plain site for everyone to see. People have no idea. But I do. I know what it’s like!
One time I was at a grocery store, shopping. And I noticed a little girl (around 6 years old) staring at me. Suddenly, the little girl turned to her mom and, in her loudest voice, said “Mommy! Mommy! Look at that man! He has boobs!” Everyone in the aisle stopped, turned and stared at me. I was horrified. There I was -- with not only my “man boobs,” but also a shopping cart full of junk food. Wow! I remember those moments vividly. So I know the kind of courage it takes to not only face the world, but also make a change that is tough and takes true diligence.
That’s why you and other people on the Just Stop! Program are so important to me. I understand every aspect of what you’re going through. And unlike many of the diet programs out there, I’m not going to lie about the realities of it or the toughness it will take to succeed. But I will tell you it can be done. One step at a time. (Or man boob at a time, as the case may be!)
Keep up the good work, beautiful!
