JASON! YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!
Yes, I’m “shouting” -- but that’s because I am thrilled with your success. And thrilled because I also know you are going to help people with your posting. You are an inspiration not only to me, but also to so many Just Stoppers all over the country. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. (And please promise me you took before and after pics and that you’re filling out your progress chart!)
Keep it up!
Keep it up!
Keep it up!
I am so impressed with your drive and your determination. People like you, who have significant injuries which can affect movement and exercise get a lot of gold stars for going on the Just Stop! program even though your exercise options are limited. The fact is, the more weight you lose, the healthier you’re going to get and the more ability for exercise you’ll have (even with injuries). The less strain on your joints (from the excess weight) the better you’ll feel and the easier it will be to move. It takes time. And patience. But hang in there, my friend. You will continue to succeed!
As I wrote to Rita, I take medical issues very seriously and I want you to promise me to consult your physician whenever necessary. All matters of your health require medical supervision (this is true for me, this is true for everyone). I hate to sound like a broken record, but I really do want everyone to be as healthy on the inside as they are on the outside (not to mention stunning and gorgeous -- which you and Rita and other Just Stoppers already are -- AT THIS VERY MOMENT!).
As for exercise, I think you and Rita (and others with injuries) would be smart to consider yoga. I write about it in the Just Stop! book and even offer some websites to investigate. Yoga does not incorporate as much cardio as we need (which you will work up to in time), but it does work all of the major muscles and is really good for our internal organs. The best approach would be to find a class and talk in detail with your yoga instructor before class. A good instructor will be able to suggest moves to do (and not do) as they relate to your injury.
Doing yoga is a lot of floor work, which can mean less wear and tear on injured knees or joints. It’s important to remember the principles of working out I write about in the book: hold that tummy in, think good posture, and sweat whenever possible. Exercise is not easy. But it is essential.
Check out these websites for some things you can do at home, but again, check with your doctor before starting any significant workout program. I want you healthy!

As for food, you and Rita definitely will begin the “anti Balsamic movement” -- LOL! Hey, if your taste buds say “no,” then ‘no’ it is. The reason I recommend Balsamic, is I find it adds punch to foods. However, there are different flavors out there. I encourage you to try a couple of other vinegars.
As for your solution of Lemon and pepper, that is excellent. I know that there are times we all dream of Ranch Dressing or mayonnaise. Just keep your goals in mind and know that the tough times are worth it. I mean, think about it, Jason -- you have taken 27 pounds off in a month. You know Just Stop! works. So stick to it! (Basil leaves are a great tip, by the way -- I'm going to try that one myself!)
Please keep us all posted on your success, Jason. In fact, I think I might like to feature you in the next newsletter (April). Let me know what you think of that and KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!
You are incredible!!!
