Hi, Rita!
You are a sweetheart and I hope I’ll get to meet you one day – if not take you on some talk show and show off your success to the world!
I love that you take time to rant, rave and ask questions. You are helping so many people when you post questions and comments to the chat board or directly to me. I value all input on Just Stop! (even the negative or challenging). The fact of the matter is, we are in this together. The world tries to shun those of us that tip the scales in the “heavy” direction. But I’m here to tell you: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. No, wait *we* are not alone – cause I’m in this with all of you, ever step (and pound) of the way.
I appreciate you sharing some of the challenges that are keeping you from embracing the exercise program full steam ahead. These are valid concerns and I want you to promise me to consult your physician whenever necessary. Remember: All matters of your health require medical supervision (this is true for me, this is true for everyone).
I want you (all of you) to be as healthy on the inside as you will be on the outside. After all, what good is looking hot and turning heads if we can’t live another 100 years to enjoy it?!
As for exercise, the important thing to do, even with ailments is MOVE. After I had surgery to have my excess skin removed, I could barely move. I couldn’t even raise my arms above my head in the shower for a while, much less walk long distances. When I finally was able to walk up and down the stairs, I took small “around the block walks.” I was slow and looked a lot like Tim Conway on “The Carol Burnett Show” (for anyone who’s caught that act in re-runs).
Literally it comes down to this: One step at a time. If it has to be small steps to protect your foot, then so be it. Of course, you can try the calisthenics offered in the Just Stop! book. The exercise regime is great for rainy days. But take it one step (one breath) at a time and do what you can do. Sometimes it will be a “slow build” to really breaking a sweat. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and a sexy figure won’t be built overnight. And we do want your foot, your blood pressure and any other medical issues to be healed, after all.
By the way, you can always start saving up for a stationary bike, or a pool membership (with water aerobic lessons as part of the benefit) -- or ask for these things for your birthday.
Also, you can search the internet for ideas that might help. I found this article for you, I’m sure there are more:

So remember, Superstar: Always put health first, always consult your doctor and always take it one step at a time. It seems like it’s slow-going at first, but suddenly you’re going to realize the progress your making is real and lasting!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! (And please promise me you took “before” pictures!)
