Tom! I can relate to everything you've written here. And I'd be lying if I didn't admit I drooled a little when I saw the burger. LOL! Before Just Stop Eating So Much!, I was a complete Junk-Food-A-Holic.
And get this -- when I would order mountains of food (just for myself) I would add "and 4 Diet Cokes" to the order, trying to "trick" the salesperson into thinking I was buying all that food for more than one person. Can you imagine?
Another thing I would do (think I was fooling the world into not realizing I weighed 450 pounds) was to read off a fake list at a fast food place, as if I was ordering for a lot of people. Boy! Talk about the games people play. I was so good at lying even to myself.
Of course, keeping a sense of humor about all of this helps I think. As do posts like yours. It's okay to admit we still like food. And yes, cravings are going to happen. They are very real. It's times like these we need to think of ourselves like horses and put blinders on, just keeping focused on the goal. The craving, the temptation (the drooling) will pass. No, it's not easy. In fact, it's really difficult. But we do it and our bodies look better and feel better for it.
I am so proud of you for getting through the urge without eating a burger of any size. CONGRATULATIONS! You are an inspiration to all of us!
I would love to read more posts like this, by the way! Hint-Hint to all you Just Stoppers! out there!
