It sounds like you've had to face a lot of challenges, Indy. I'm sure all of us can relate. I know I can. It's important you deal with a doctor when it comes to medication and serious physical and even mental ailments.
At the same time, it's important to realize that you are in control of you. Sometimes depression means not having a passion in life. While your physical abilities might be limited because of your back, there are things you can do that don't require a lot of physical activity. Perhaps you can start writing poetry or even a novel. Or maybe start painting, drawing or even knitting. When we have something to show for our time, something we can point to and say, "I did that," it helps. It's a matter of finding a hobby (a passion) that motivates you.
It's also important to remember this: one step at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day. Many pounds are not lost overnight. Sometimes a walking workout begins with moving from one side of the bedroom to the other for a day or two. Then moving down the hallway. Then across the home. And eventually around the block. Set small, attainable goals and then work to achieve them. As you achieve these goals and also work on a passionate hobby, you will likely start to feel better about yourself -- one step at a time.
Lastly, I'd suggest investigating the following website. There are a lot of useful downloads and youtube videos that don't require any cost. I have found them helpful and so have many people that I have worked with:

The fact that you've taken time to write, even though feeling so down, is actually a good sign, Indi. Think of it as your first positive step. You realize it's time for healthy change in your life. And although it might take a little time, you have the power to achieve that change -- even with just one small step at a time.
Keep us posted. And remember, you're not in this alone!
