I'm glad you're surrounded by people in your particular Weight Watchers group that support your efforts and make you feel at home.
Your experience with Weight Watchers is very different than mine. I belonged to several Weight Watchers groups and offices over the years (in different cities and states) and found them all eventually worthless for losing weight and getting healthy. It's too easy to cheat on the program and the people they enlist to weigh people in at the scales are not trained to properly counsel people when they gain weight or cheat.
When it comes to losing weight, the "that's okay, you'll do better next week" approach doesn't work. (If it did, our country's population would not be fatter and heavier than it ever has been in our entire history.)
When it comes to successful weight loss, we need to give ourselves some tough love. It took "work" to get fat. It's going to take work and effort to get healthy. In my opinion, organizations such as Weight Watchers make it too easy to cheat and too easy to gain weight and head in the opposite direction of our weight loss goals. This is illustrated by their "specials" for returning members who want to re-join. (Why would they need these "Re-Join Specials" if the clientele were so successful?)
And here's some additional food for thought (no pun intended...well, maybe a little pun -- LOL): If organizations like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem work so well, how come advertisements that show off their success stories include the fine print "Results Not Typical"?
Again, it's about finding what works for you. It's important to set goals and meet them. I know you've taken off 40 pounds so far, Ida. And I applaud you. The entire Just Stop! Community applauds you. Your success is our success. Keep up the good work and thanks (as always) for your posts/comments.
