Eternity!!! Thanks for the post -- and for sharing everything you've been through in regard to fighting the battle of the bulge. I can relate to everything you wrote about. Well, everything except that "having a baby" thing. Ha!
Seriously, though (and actually, I'm never too serious because I think it's important we keep a sense of humor about all of this) I know this time is going to be different for you. I can sense your commitment in your post. And you will find that fruits and vegetables can be really, really good.
There's a fruit salad recipe in the Just Stop! Book that's out of this world. I'm not kidding. It's as good as an ice cream sundae. I am drooling on my keyboard thinking about it right now. (Yes, I still love food and still love to eat -- just as much as I love to fit into my "thin" clothes! Both loves can co-exist!)
One of the keys really is learning to appreciate the flavors of real foods again. So many of our foods are over-processed and contain additives and dangerous chemicals. Not to mention salt. Even chains like Whole Foods have products with extremely dangerous amounts of salt, which is added to enhance flavor. With all this crap on our palate, we have learned to not recognize what good food tastes like.
The first couple weeks on the diet will be tough. We think we want fried food, overly sugared food, food saturated with salt and chemicals. We don't recognize the pure tastes of wheat breads, broiled meats, fresh fruits and crisp vegetables. But your taste buds will change and soon you'll be craving the foods and meals feature din the Just Stop Eating So Much! book. Seriously, Eternity! This is not a load of crap.
I love when people post to the chat board and hope you'll stop by and let us know how you're doing. Like I've suggested to other Just Stoppers, please take before pictures and write down your before measurements (there's a chart you can use in the Just Stop! book). You'll love tracking your progress. And we're on hand to track it with you. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!
Thanks again for your post!!!
P.S. London is a great name for your beautiful daughter! Good choice! ;-)
