Hi Greg,
I heard that you will be on C2Cam with Ian Punnett for the first hour of the show tonight. I've been a listener to Coast for 13 years or so. (I started listening when I was working 3rd. shift.) Ian is a great host and I think you'll have a good time with him.
I just ordered your book about 30 minutes ago, after listening to your YouTube interviews, very inspiring!! I'm really looking forward to your interview tonight with Ian.
So here I go:
I have one of those 60" belts myself (several actully) and I think that was what pushed me over the edge to buy your book, watching you wrap that around your waist. That's 5 FEET of belt
I haven't seen myself at 175 Lbs since I got out of the Air Force in 1974 and I'll be 53 in 3 months.
I'm sure I weigh well over 400 lbs. by now, last time I was at the Doc. I was 395
then. I put on weight gradually, probably about 10 pounds a year, when I was working (25 years at a Brewery in Milwaukee). Basiclly I worked 7 days (or nights) a week, for 90% of the time, I'd go for months at a time without a day off.
Starting in the late 80's and into the 90's I started having health problems, my weight caused my lymphatic system to become overtaxed, and I ended up with Cardiovascular Lymphatic Disese, (where the body can't pump the Lymph fluid properly) and the lymph fluids collected in my Calfs and Thighs, causing my legs to blow up like tree trunks.
I also ended up with type 2 Diabeties in the bargan
My job demanded a lot of physical activity, and it just got to be too much for me to handle, so I had to quit work, and go on Soc. Sec. Disability.
Over the years I've tried many diet's, I had some success on Weight Watchers, but I couldn't afford the food, and weekly meeting payments (it always seemed like they were more interested in the money than my success, you know)
I'd consider most anything at this point except for gastric by-pass surgury, my wife had that done a few years ago, and almost died from internal bleeding when the stiches let loose a week after the operation.
She did loose over 100 lbs on it though, but she's put over half of that back on her, by eating too much, and eating the wrong foods. So your book is really for both of us, and I hope I can convince her to go along with it, hopefully any success I have will inspire her to try it.
I belong to a Coast to Coast discussion group, the NightHawk Zone www.nighthawkzone.com and i'm RCParkFlyer there, so if you happen to read this before the show tonight, a shout out would be cool
I think your really going to be a life saver!!
Tom
