Posted by JULIE (Webmistress) on March 10, 2006, 8:14 pm Is there a fan left out there other than Frank who thinks Streissguth did a thorough job researching and writing about Jim's life? Mr. Anderson now says people SHOULD buy Larry's book but that they should "keep your eyes on the Internet for any corrections or criticisms by fans who may have original documentation which could contradict something in the book." He once again has to get in his DAILY DIG by saying "Don't let all of the facts about Larry Jordan here in the Forum bring you down. Not all Jim Reeves fans are like that." He also says "Mike Streissguth's book and Arie's site are the best and most reliable sources of information about Jim Reeves." Of course, Mr. Anderson's version of reality is a great deal different than most people's. He claims our daughter is into the occult, that we're passing Larry's elderly mother off as our attorney, that we post on swingers' sex sites, that Larry is a convicted felon, etc. But then Streissguth claimed that Jim was "demonic" but that "his heart was not completely black." These guys really are two peas in a pod, aren't they? I have seen first hand how Larry has approached the writing of the book and I know he's taped a lot of interviews with people and also that he is relying on original documents like Jim and Mary's diaries and even the diary of Mary's own mother. Plus a lot of correspondence. Mr. Anderson is of course entitled to his opinion but his comments are misleading in suggesting that Arie den Dulk, of all people, would be more accurate than Larry in his research. Remember Arie's famous interview that said Jim "bribed" an FAA man to get his pilot's license or that he was a "boxer" who had a "steel plate in his head"?

Michael Streissguth's book is being defended once again on "the other" site and that author is described by his friend Frank Anderson as "well respected" and as having participated in "distinguished panel discussions about Jim Reeves at famous colleges." What colleges? I am only aware of one.
