I've just read your posting and am marvelling at your comment "I'm a writer (translation: not a weekdays-only city worker)". What's the problem with people who work in the city? Are we supposed to be hugely relieved at the prospect of your moving into the neighbourhood because you not a "city worker"? I find this kind of anti-city snobbery very tiresome. Its particularly bizarre given the way that so many people who live on the estate are rubbing their hands together greedily at the current house prices. The frequent references to 'city workers' and 'yuppies' in this noticeboard make some of JHERA's residents sound extremely petty.
