Posted by Steve If one plan for an extra storey is approved, then the precedent will have been set and others will surely follow. I am sure that there are many of you who will be horrified at the idea the uniformity of the estate, which is surely one of its charms, being spoilt in this way. If you are, I urge you either to get in touch with Ms.K.Phillipson at the planning department. Her number is (020) 7364 5356 and the reference is PA/00/01761. Alternatively, if you think I can give you more information, please do e-mail me at stevewald@cwcom.net. Time is quite short as the Planning Committee is meeting within the next few weeks. Steve.

The Council Planning Department have had an application to build another storey on the roof of one of the houses in the estate. I have spoken to the officer dealing with it and although the Conservation Area regulations theoretically prevent it, (and the Department are against it), the Planning Committee, who apparently were lobbied in its favour, surprisingly didn't reject it out of hand but sent it away for alteration. It is being reconsidered VERY soon, and there haven't been very many responses to the new application so far, (actually there's only been one - my objection), I suspect because people don't know about it.
