The guys in question are the Ricky Lynch band and the main force of the band, Ricky himself, is the reason. Ricky Lynch seemed to come from nowhere to take the coast by storm and has cemented his brand of acoustic pop and rock on audiences from the greater Sydney metropolitan area through to the inner city and right down as far south as Pambula on the New South Wales music scene. As a very young boy, Ricky knew he had to perform and the past three years has seen him hone his talents to the stage where he is one of the most sought after acts on the current circuit. Ricky is a singer/songwriter with a passion for life as large as his passion for music. His desire to please an audience sees him serve his music driven by a very emotional ‘raw acoustic’ sound. It’s just him, the guitar and a microphone and his projection of a tremendous amount of energy into his performance and it is delivered superbly minus any electronic gadgetry or backing tracks. At 26 years of age, his vocal range extends from the heartfelt sounds of Cat Stevens to the excitement of Meatloaf and Axel Rose. And it is all consistently performed with every ounce of his energy. From his first band in the front-man position of Sydney based “Nevergrips” to his “top 75” position in Australian Idol in 2003, Ricky has gained experience in the real world of music from many different angles. 2005 has him placed on the brink of recording his first album and with a new band line-up. Partnering on the voyage of creating this album are Nick on bass and Carlos on percussion and Mick on drums. All bringing their own personalities and talents into the mix.
