I know! When I saw his info in the playbill, I realized that I must have seen him before in several things without knowing it...for example, in The Forsyte Saga. :-)

: I just got back last Saturday after four
: nights in my favorite city--New York. I'll
: try to post a report soon, but I wanted to
: tell you about a show that touched me in a
: way that Paul's beautiful Jane Eyre did:
: Death Takes a Holiday. I can't stop thinking
: about the lush and romantic music and
: lyrics. It has an excellent cast, gorgeous
: costumes, and a set design that works quite
: well on the small stage.
:
: Julian Ovenden is Death and also masquerades
: as Prince Nikolai on his weekend holiday at
: an Italian villa. He embraces life with
: childlike glee at times while never
: forgetting the power that he holds over the
: mortals around him. Of course, he falls in
: love. Ovenden's chemistry and vocalizations
: with Jill Paice (Grazia) are perfect.
:
: It's a limited run at the Laura Pels Theater
: and is set to close on September 4th. (There
: is a discount code at broadwaybox.com.) My
: fingers and toes are crossed that there will
: be a cast recording AND that the show will
: move to another theater. Death Takes a
: Holiday is a lovely way to spend an
: evening...Sigh. If you have a romantic bone
: in your body, you will fall in love with it
: as I did.
