Ever since my niece was a wee lass, I would tell her a story and start telling her Jane Eyre. She's almost three now, and yesterday, I started telling her Jane Eyre again (highlighting all the "morbid" parts, as my mom would say, her being an orphan, her horrible Aunt Reed, fever outbreak, her best friend's death, etc.). When I got to the part when she gets to Thornfield, I paused and said, "Are you liking the story." "Yeah," she said, "what next?"
I thought it was cute. One of these days I'll actually tell her a story she can grasp, but until then, I'll keep annoyin everyone by telling her Jane Eyre and Aida.
