I saw it last week here in Minneapolis as well! It's not nearly as "bad" as the reviews have said and it's a joyous, loving tribute to the books.
I think that the people (and press) who haven't had nice things to say about it were expecting to see a staging of the tv show and it wasn't. This production of the Little House books was writen to be true to the original stories - not to the role Melissa Gilbert played.
Is the show ready for Broadway? Eh, maybe not quite yet. But I did really enjoy it...and I even got to briefly meet Melissa Gilbert, my childhood hero...
