Friday morning we got up and checked out of our hotel. They were so nice, letting us leave our luggage in the office, as we did not have to get on the train until the afternoon. We made the trip waaaay uptown to the Cloisters.
I have wanted to visit here since my Medieval professor told me about when I was his research assistant. What a cool place! It was worth the hassle on the subway and the walk.
It was a beautiful day and the garden/terrace area is lovely. We were a bit rushed because we had to go back to the hotel and pick up our luggage and then go to Grand Central and catch a train to CT, so I would really like to go back there and spend more time. There is a lot to see. We rode the train to CT with my friend Rebecca to visit her parents and spend the night with them. This little dog, Scotty, was on the train and he was so cute.
We had to get out Rebecca's dresses so I could take pictures of them. She is disgustingly talented.
(me and the "Jane" dress)
(Bec's Victorian ball gown) She makes these basically without patterns. If anyone ever needs a costume like this, let me know and I'll hook you up! Saturday early afternoon we rode the train back to Grand Central, hopped on the bus to La Guardia, and had time for one last slice of pizza before we got on the plane. I saw this bear and HAD to pose with it...
The flight from Houston to Sacramento seemed like it took foreeeeever. Yeesh. It was 100% full, which didn't help. Next post will be about the show! I'll try to get it up by the weekend, but family is coming for sister's birthday and I have to be social. *sigh*
