Uhm - getting them to talk much about the show at all was work. Only Swimmer - who discusses literature with me and likes to analyze some movies with me would come close. But a "love scene?" Nope. Sorry.
So, was it blocked the same in FL? Was that song re-written for NYC or did they have it that way in FL, is what I guess I'm asking.
I think you're right about the jealousy on Darnay's part. It did add to his character - though I have to dig out the book to see if in fact it was hinted at there. I'm inclined to say it was. (And realistically - what man wouldn't wonder about this Loser-type-lawyer hanging around the house?)
Oh - and then they extended it to when Carton first enters Darnay's cell at the end - what did Darnay say - "Lucie deserves to be happy" ? Of course Sidney shuts him up and commands him to write. Loved that.
