Yes, the song is different in the show.
This is probably the "concert" version. 
As I recall 
there is part of a book scene with underscoring before he actually begins to sing. Lucie gives him a Christmas gift or something and he's quite affected by it. It's the whole "I'M IN LOVE!!!!" scene. I think the song is longer as well.
I'm sitting at the computer wearing a bright orange tshirt and half of frilly costume (sort of a ballgown skirt thing going on). Cleaning out one's closet can be fun. 
I'm hoping to find my Tale shirt from Florida. I can't wait for you to see the show. It's not the greatest musical, but JB will knock your socks off.
