hi guys,
just sending word from cincinnati where we are staging EMMA at cincinnati playhouse in the park. rehearsals are going extremely well. it helps to bring back our five principles who are already familiar with the material. the playhouse seems to be designed for EMMA. what a lovely space this is. we are in week two and the whole show has already been blocked. i've done very little re-writing which is odd for me as i am usually writing new songs in rehearsals or cutting entire scenes and replacing them with something new. the only big changes are the opening of the show, plus some tweaks to the songs "relations" and "piece of cake". but other than some new staging, a new design team, some wonderful new actors, the show will be very similar to our last production at theaterworks.
right now lianne marie dobbs and dani marcus are rehearsing the song, "a gentleman's daughter. they are both doing great and i should probably be paying more attention, so i will get back to work, but just wanted to drop you guys a quick note.
