I was thinking about this recently and came up with my top 3 (in no particular order):
1) I can't recall her exact words, but there was an English teacher who was sitting next to me at Jane one time who was so awed by the show. I was astounded to find out that she had never read the book and didn't even know the basics of the story. Yes, she was an ENGLISH teacher. Amazing.
2) At Dance of the Vampires, a young couple near me was talking about the show and the cast:
Him - "Michael Crawford is like....god...."
Her - (after a long pause) "Have you sought help?"
3) At a recent performance of POTO, the man behind me was talking to a companion and said "The girl who played Christine in the movie is Emma Rogers. She's sung with Pavarotti. She's phenomenal."
(I was in a good mood after seeing my second favorite Phantom, so I let him live
)
Okay, your turn! Considering the amount of shows this board has seen and the years spent theatre-going, there has to be some good ones out there!
Long Live Jane and Emma,
Kathey
