Ulrich old friend--
An acquaintance asked me the strangest, rather thought provoking question today. The question was: If you knew you were going to die in 2010, what is the thing you would miss most? I of course thought about my kids/grandkids, and my wife who supports my many hobbies, football on TV, life in general, etc., but when I replied, I said "My hobbies". I think that I have gotten more satisfaction from my hobbies in my lifetime than my work career or the other things I mentioned above. I would of course have to start "selling things off" as Paul mentioned, but I think I would continue "creating" with my ship models for as long as the Lord gave me. I knew a hobby shop owner here in Sacramento many years ago who was really into radio control models. One day, his airplane went up under control, but came down with a dead pilot at the stick. What a way to go. He died doing what he loved. Do what fulfills you....

: When you get to be close to 75, collecting
: more models does not make a lot of sense
: unless you think you live forever or someone
: close really wants them after you are gone.
: They certainly are not and never will be the
: great investment I told my wife and children
: about. Many will end up in some remote

: shows over and over again, even I you got
: one for an idiotic bargain at $600.

: So when is it time for a collector to stop,
: reverse the engines, and retire? This is
: not a morbid thought, but there are no easy
