In my "first" 1/1200 scale ship model collection (the one I built up between 1968 and 1974) I had a Superior HIJMS "Katori". As I recall, it had the name of the ship cast into the starboard side aft of the model as all those old Superiors used to have. The twin main batterty mounts (one forward one aft) were cast as part of the model and had a web of metal between the barrells of the guns. As I recall, I filed those off and replaced them with pins (out of scale, but looked a little better than the webbing). I sold these models off to help fund going to law school. I've replaced that collection since, but never did get another Superior "Katori".
