Thanks for article and pictures. Shigure's story is truly an amazing one. Hard to believe this destroyer could go through so many battles and survive until finally sunk by a submarine late in the war. Truly one of the luckiest warships I have ever read about. Hara's "Japanese Destroyer Captain" book is a great read. I can't imagine the astonishment felt by everyone who served on the Shigure when they drained the drydock and saw the torpedo hole in the rudder. Another great conversion and I look forward eagerly to seeing each one you post.
