YFD-2 was the second floating drydock of the USN. The first was the famous Dewey dock that was later towed all the way to the Philippines.
YFD2 was built between 1899 and 1902 (start and finish years). She had a nominal lift capacity of 18000 tons.
The dock was 525 feet long and had a molded overall width of 126' 3".
the length on blocks was 519'6" and the width, clear, inside, between permanent obstuctions, was 88'3".
maximum draft when submerged was 50' and light draft was 4'6".
draft over blocks was 28'
The dock was considered suitable for docking cruisers and escort carriers.
The dock was originally assigned to the naval station in New Orleans, but was towed to Pearl Harbor in 1940 by 2 navy tugs. The dock sank following the attack, but was raised and put back in service by Mar 1942.
Most of the above data comes from the 1945 edition of "Ships' Data U.S. Naval Vessels".
I hope its enough to answer your needs.
