I just read an old internet post from August of this year stating that Dorking Foundry in Surrey was probably to be torn down as early as RIGHT NOW. Our UK friends and Eagle fans will recognize Dorking Foundry as the site of manufacture of Vulcan Models Aircraft and Later Eagle and Eaglewall (1:1200 scale) ships and aircraft models. Well, you can't save them all, but still it is a shame to see this nice old brick building torn down. It has been used as a Museum for the Surrey area since around 1976. The Museum wants to build a new building to preserve the artifacts since the old Foundry is leaking and may have other structural problems. An end of an era. Eaglewall will truly be gone when the building finally goes (if it isn't gone already).
