1250 Scale is still here. We've been serving the hobby on the net continuously since 1997.

: That to me has been one of the big problems
: with these kinds of sites. I've been
: watching them come and go for over 10 years.
: So many I don't remember all of them.
: Orkut, Myspace, Linkedin and so on. People
: stayed until something better came along or
: they started trying to wring some money out
: of users. And realistically if Twitter was
: charging I wouldn't be trying it.
:
: But I will say this- with the current stay
: of the economy and the level of sales to
: current collectors everyone better hope that
: we attract some new blood to the hobby. The
: downturn is putting a lot of pressure on the
: manufacturers and dealers. It seems to have
: accelerated what everyone suspected was
: coming as older collectors either stop
: collecting or dump their collections on the
: market. Tomorrow we lose Bille as they
: close down for good. Before this is over
: I'm positive we will lose more manufacturers
: and a few dealers as well.

: Before Facebook they were on Friends
: Reunited.
: They didn't stay long.
: Now they're moving on from Facebook.
: The young herd will gallop away from Twitter
: soon enough when something else takes their
: short-term fancy.
: I'm not sure chasing the herd is going to be
: very rewarding. Good hunting, Chris!
