jfk sent gen maxwell taylor to VN on a fact finding mission. taylor came back (with the Marine Corps recommendation) that we get the hell out of VN....especially since we had been there since 1952, watching the communists take over most of the country.

jfk went against taylor and the USMC recommendation and starting sending in more troops. massive deployments, no. but it all rests on JFK. period. it was jfk who drew the line in the sand against the commie domino effect, and escalated the Ho mess. Signed, Dr. Kingfish
