My favorite use of basketball statistics was during the Sycamores 4 -24 1988-1989 season by Coach Ron Greene. He was frustrated with losing and at a "chalk talk" he handed out stats per 40 minutes played ( I think based on the last game played) ... and then said he would start the best 5 (based on those per 40 minutes played statistics) the next game ... of course garbage time and playing 1 or 2 minutes were part of the equation. Guess what ...it did not help! Surprise huh!!!
Last known ...at age 69 in 2008 he was coaching Murray High School.
