I guess I could see the NCAA being prudent with this situation if this was a kid who went to a big program, never played and then wanted to jump ship to a smaller school that would get him more playing time, or was leaving a program that was about to go on probation or losing or something. However, in Jake's case, this was obviously not the case. Jake clearly has roots here in the area, is not looking to leave a losing program or for more playing time as he was starting each game at Iowa. I don't know what else the NCAA needs. At the rate they are going, by the time they clear him to play it will be March and he will have sat out the season anyway. I am sure if this was Kentucky or Kansas, the decision would have been made six weeks ago, and it would have been favorable.
