I sat in that stadium. My freshman year, the old "half circle" part of the baseball stadium was still there with a football field (it WAS Astroturf, however) going thru it from left to right. I would call that a tale of folklore. It had some atmosphere but I would hardly call it one of the finest in the country. It was falling apart.
