"Thinking" is part of recruiting, isn't it?
I would "think" that ISU's prior experience with a Batesville phenom would've sealed such ideas.
Ryan is not a late bloomer, by any means, and ISU should've camping on his doorstep with Menser (and others) personally delivering each day's newspaper. If it meant "saving" a schollie...so be it.
In AAU ball, Ryan played with Duke recruit Mason Plumlee, Indiana recruits Jordan Hulls and Bobby Capobianco, and Purdue recruit D.J. Byrd.

Did you read any of the posted comments from the E-ville Courier article? People were saying that they's drive the 6 hr. roundtrip to E-ville just to see him play. How does this compare with some of ISU's "other" guards? We've chewed on the issue before - HOME GROWN v. IMPORT$.
I'm not by any means condemning ANY of our players...just saying that ISU has still not mastered the in-state recruiting game...and as exemplified by the Batesville situation, we've got a l-o-n-g way to go.
