Posted by Tim There have been a few comments in recent postings about vitamins. When I was diagnosed one Dr I saw told me to stop taking vitamins immediately and that vitamins are not required if you maintain a balanced diet. The idea that you need to take them to maintain your health is perpetuated by the industry for obvious reasons. Tim

I was diagnosed with HH about this time last year, started plebotomies in January and now after 35 visits to the clinic my ferratin is down from 1080 to 88. My doctor tells me he wants to continue the phlebs until I am iron deficient. He has also stated that he is looking for a ferratin level of 30. Is this a fairly common approach? Should he be more concerned about my TS level?
