Posted by Jane I've now been referred to the haematology department at my local hospital. I'd like to know what questions I should be asking the specialist to get the most out of my appointment next week. I'm 43 and live in the UK.

Whilst having blood tests for an unrelated condition, my doctor noticed that my Ferritin level was slightly too high. I had the test done again, also transferrin saturation test and liver function tests.
The results were Ferritin 356, TS 56%, liver function tests were ok.
